Barry accepted the republicans' invitation to their house retreat and without teleprompters or ideologue rhetoric let the audience reflect themselves. Really, if you have an hour in the day to watch this, it's something to see. Not only because of the blatant mismatch in agenda and tact but also because i think it's very unique to watch a sitting president attend the opposite party's house retreat and perform like i would expect a president to: knowledgeable on the issues and pragmatic.
Healthcare is asked about at about 30 min in, and "rep. jeb from texas" gets schooled at about 55 min.

An interesting take to be sure. I would've sworn every president since George Washington took every opportunity availed them to lecture Congress and scorn the 'loyal opposition'.
ReplyDeleteBut then I didnt think the whole 'Hope' and 'Change' thing was all that original either.
As for who schooled whom? I'd say both sides took their licks. The Representative from my estranged (and very strange) home state of Utah was pretty spot on as he chronicled the lies and broken promises - Obies dance around them looked very huckster.
And his old friend from the Great State of Illinois offered the most univeral truth of the day in telling Obama 'you're not in full bloom'.
A full year has passed, we've more troops in harms way, deeper debt than our progeny will ever understand, let alone pay off, more unemployed, and by extension, more without healthcare than ever before. I'd say it's time for the flower to bloom. I'm not sure how much more 'giving him a chance' we can take. We know obies got brains, but good god we need a little brawn once in a while too!
does this all mean you wont be wearing your puff paint "change is barry, barry good for america" ringer tshirt you made anymore?
